About Joypad
Playing some games on your computer is not as much fun using standard keyboard controls. Joypad provides a more authentic gaming experience by turning your iPhone into a wireless game controller for your Mac or PC!
FAQs
How do I start using Joypad?
Purchase Joypad from the App Store and download the free desktop client for Mac or PC. Next, launch Joypad on your iDevice and Joypad Connect on your computer. From Joypad Connect, select your device from the list and you're ready to start playing!
Does Joypad work with Steam for Mac?
For games that require keyboard input only, yes. There is currently no way to move the mouse from Joypad.
Does Joypad work on an iPod Touch?
Yes.
Does Joypad work with MAME OS X?
Only up to release 0.112, which can be found on SourceForge. Unfortunately, newer releases of MAME OS X will not work with Joypad.
Where can I find more about using emulators?
Check out the Video Game Emulation section of applemediacenter.com.
Can I hit A and B at the same time?
Not yet. This is being prepared for the next release, thanks to a suggestion from a clever customer (thanks Tom!).
Can I use Joypad without a wifi connection?
Yes. Joypad will work over an ad-hoc network. See the screenshots for setting up an Ad Hoc network.
Will it work with a weak wifi connection?
Not really. It will lag like crazy. Use the ad hoc solution above.
How does it work?
Joypad translates touches on the device's screen into key-presses on your networked computer.
The troubleshooting guides can be found here for Mac and here for PC.
